This two-year diploma program is designed to allow you to develop a working knowledge of business management and technical skills necessary for small- to medium-sized businesses in the apparel fashion industry. The entrepreneurial aspect of this program guides you through the process of developing a comprehensive business plan, which is essential to start a new business or manage an existing business. You will gain an understanding of textiles, garment construction, quality criteria and apparel merchandising. You will also learn to apply marketing, accounting, financial and other business concepts necessary for the fashion business industry.

The Fashion Management diploma program will prepare you to apply the tools of marketing and merchandising to maximize product success in the market. As a student in the Fashion Management program, you will have a deep understanding of textiles, manufacturing inputs and processes and movement in the supply chain, as well as management of the value, costing and quality of apparel. You will also gain relevant industry knowledge through field education experience after the first year of study, and through the unique opportunity to manage a retail store on campus.

The Fashion Techniques and Design program prepares you for careers in garment-manufacturing design rooms. This is a women's wear program that focuses on pattern drafting and sewing skills. You will use industrial machines and learn the essentials of technical illustration, pattern making, pattern grading and clothing construction. Additional core subjects include textiles, technical specifications and history of costume.

The Jewellery Methods program provides you with the skills necessary to succeed in the demanding profession of a goldsmith/bench jeweller. The essential skills of measuring, sawing, filing, soldering, finishing and computer modelling are stressed early in the program. Once essential skills are achieved, you study more advanced goldsmithing, jewellery repair, gemsetting and model-making as well as jewellery elective subjects.

The Acting for Media program moves beyond acting for film and television and comprises the training needed to succeed as a screen actor whether for film, television, online, game or interactive mediums. Students will learn to apply their craft as professional actors and voice-over artists to all media.Disclaimer: This program has expectations of professionalism, group work, intimacy between actors, whispering, consensual touching, combat training, expressions of physicality, deep exploration of self, personal psychological examination, conflict, and successful failure.  This program is meant to train a student to be a professional actor which includes all of these aspects listed here.

Dance Performance is a rigorous and high-standard two-year diploma program that prepares ballet and contemporary dancers to launch a performance career in professional dance.

The four-semester Business diploma program at George Brown College in Toronto prepares students to carry out a variety of business functions within local, national and global settings. Graduates will have demonstrated a practical understanding of key principles and practices necessary for success in the field of business. 

The four-semester Business – Marketing diploma opens doors to opportunities in the exciting and fast-moving field of marketing. The marketing programs at George Brown College's Centre for Business in Toronto are more than textbooks and lectures. Our learning is hands-on and project-based, incorporating case studies and projects that can involve industry partners. Students also develop soft skills, including written and oral communication, business presentations and teamwork. After successful completion of the first year or second year, students can transfer into the three-year Business Administration – Marketing advanced diploma.

George Brown College’s part-time Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma program will prepare you to work as a trained early childhood professional. In this part-time program, you will study in the evenings taking one to three courses per semester. Upon completion of this program, you will be eligible for entrance to Ontario’s College of Early Childhood Educators. This is a requirement for anyone wanting to work as an Early Childhood Educator in the province of Ontario.

This Early Childhood Education program is currently offering a $2,000 tuition grant to domestic students starting in September 2023 and January 2024*.*This opportunity is funded in partnership with the City of Toronto, the Region of Durham, the Region of Peel, the Province of Ontario, and the Government of Canada under the new Canada-Ontario Early Childhood Workforce Agreement, which provides one-time federal funding to support the retention and recruitment of a high-quality child care and early years workforce. Early Childhood Education is a two-year diploma program that uses rotating blocks of theory and practice to give you the skills you need to work with children from six weeks to 12 years of age in a variety of settings.

This Early Childhood Education program is currently offering a $2,000 tuition grant to domestic students starting in September 2023.**This opportunity is funded in partnership with the City of Toronto, the Region of Durham, the Region of Peel, the Province of Ontario, and the Government of Canada under the new Canada-Ontario Early Childhood Workforce Agreement, which provides one-time federal funding to support the retention and recruitment of a high-quality child care and early years workforce. Students will learn to work with infants, toddlers, preschool and school-aged children in a variety of early childhood education settings.

George Brown College's Early Childhood Education (Consecutive Diploma/Degree) (C148) is a program that offers many distinct advantages, including the ability to graduate with both an Early Childhood Education diploma and an Honours Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership degree from George Brown.

Students in this ECE Diploma program will learn how to design curriculum for child-centred, play-based learning and will develop skills to respond to each child's unique needs and interests as they grow and develop. Students will learn to work with infants, toddlers, preschool and school-aged children in a variety of early childhood education settings.

The Assaulted Women's and Children's Counsellor/Advocate (Accelerated) program provides students with a feminist, anti-racist analysis of the political and counselling issues related to gender-based violence. The program establishes a foundation for students to be agents for change in their work in community education, political action and law reform. It prepares students to provide anti-oppressive counselling and advocacy for self-identified women, children, trans and non-binary survivors who have experienced or are experiencing gender-based violence. This three-semester program is a condensed version of the two-year (C137) program. It is designed for applicants with an existing diploma or degree and work/volunteer experience in feminist organizations and programs, who are interested in accelerating their career as a Counsellor/Advocate for survivors of gender-based violence.PLEASE NOTE: If you apply to the 2023/24 intake for this program, you will begin your studies in May 2024.    

George Brown College's Assaulted Women's and Children's Counsellor/Advocate (AWCCA) (C137) program provides students with a feminist, anti-racist analysis of the political and counselling issues related to gender-based violence. George Brown College's Community Worker (C101) program prepares students to work for progressive social change with organizations, communities and individuals across a range of issues such as poverty, housing, legal rights, discrimination, food justice, immigration and refugee settlement.

George Brown College's Community Worker (Accelerated) (C131) is a dynamic, fast-track program designed to prepare you to work with individuals, organizations and communities. You'll lean to work across a range of issues including social justice, poverty, housing, violence, food justice, immigration and settlement in ways that are responsive to their multiple and changing needs. This accelerated program stream is suitable for students with an existing diploma or degree. PLEASE NOTE: if you apply to the 2023/24 intake for this program, you will start in May 2024. To begin your studies in May 2023, apply to the 2022/23 academic year. This is an approved education program by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). Graduates of this program may apply to receive the additional designation of RSSW (Registered Social Service Worker). Extra fees may apply.

George Brown College's Social Service Worker (C119) is an innovative program that provides students with an opportunity to learn theoretical models, approaches to practice, group facilitation, mental health supports, social innovation and anti-oppressive practice. This two-year program combines in-class learning with field placement.This is an approved education program by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

George Brown College's Social Service Worker (Accelerated) (C135) is an innovative program that provides students with the opportunity to learn theoretical models, methods of practice, group facilitation, mental health supports, social innovation and anti-oppressive practice. This is a condensed version (three semesters) of the two-year (C119) program that allows college and university graduates from the social sciences entry into a career in social services.PLEASE NOTE: If you apply to the 2023/24 intake for this program, you will start in May 2024. To begin your studies in May 2023, apply to the 2022/23 academic year.

This 2-year program is eligible for a $40,000 scholarship.*Construction engineering technicians work with home builders and general contractors, bid for construction work and organize and supervise the participation of various trades involved in a construction project. This two-year Construction Engineering Technician diploma program provides the technical skills and knowledge required to assist in all phases of residential, small commercial and industrial construction projects.*Domestic students only — see page for details.

This 2-year program is eligible for a $40,000 scholarship.*Students in George Brown College's Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician program develop the ability to size, install and maintain building environmental systems for the residential and light commercial sectors. Today’s companies require employees with multidisciplinary expertise that combines electrical, mechanical and controls engineering skills, along with the installation, maintenance and operation of increasingly sophisticated and automated equipment.

This 2-year program is eligible for a $40.000 scholarship.*This Mechanical Technician program integrates precision machining methods with advanced computer-controlled machine technology (CNC) in state-of-the-art Precision Machining, CAD/CAM, CNC, Research and Robotics Labs. Students design and manufacture tools, jigs, fixtures, precision fabrication assemblies and prototypes using computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing software, precision machining equipment and sophisticated CNC machine tool technology. George Brown College's Behavioural Science Technician (C146) is a two-year diploma program that provides you with an opportunity to study Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). This field of study helps prepare you for work that is often related to developmental disabilities, brain injuries, gerontology and behavioural disorders. The primary goal of ABA is to support meaningful change in people’s lives.

George Brown College's Behavioural Science Technician (Accelerated) (C156) one-year intensive program is designed for students who have a bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field. In this accelerated diploma program, you will study applied behaviour analysis (ABA) and behavioural intervention as it relates to a variety of populations including those with developmental disabilities, acquired brain injury, gerontology and behavioural disorders.

George Brown College's Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician (S102) is a practice-oriented, hands-on program that teaches students to be competent with many hand tools and specialized machines used in the fabrication of orthotic and prosthetic devices. This program is unique in Canada.

George Brown College's Recreation Management in Gerontology (C152) two-year diploma program will provide you with specialized knowledge in the field of aging and the ability to design and deliver meaningful therapeutic programs to enhance the quality of life of older adults. This Ontario College Diploma program is unique in Ontario.Graduates of this program meet and exceed the requirements as outlined in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act to work as the recreation lead or as a recreation team staff member.

George Brown College's Health Information Management program prepares graduates to participate in the collection and organization of health information. Over the course of two years, students will develop the skills and knowledge they need to work as health information practitioners.

George Brown College's Office Administration – Health Services (S135) program will help you develop the specialized skills you need to work in a variety of health-care settings. George Brown College's two-year Practical Nursing program teaches students the foundational skills required to work as a registered practical nurse. Following successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to write the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Registration Examinations.

George Brown College's General Arts and Science (R101) is a two-year (four semesters) diploma program designed to help you strengthen your academic skills and refine your goals for further post-secondary studies. This program includes a wide range of required courses within arts and humanities, social sciences and science, as well as a choice of two liberal studies elective courses to ensure breadth in thinking and analytical skills.
