The Business – Accounting two-year diploma program provides you with a solid background in basic accounting concepts and practices, as well as broad-based business skills related to accounting application software, spreadsheets and databases, economics, communications, law and taxation. This rigorous learning experience will enable you to build and demonstrate the skills you need to work in the field of accounting.

The Business – Accounting two-year diploma in Toronto provides you with a solid background in basic accounting concepts and practices, as well as broad-based business skills related to accounting application software, spreadsheets and databases, economics, communications, law and taxation. This rigorous learning experience will enable you to build and demonstrate the skills you need to work in the field of accounting.

These industry-ready skills include:

  • processing common business transactions
  • preparing reports on an organization's financial performance
  • preparing financial budgets and plans to support management decisions
  • analyzing operating performance

Centre for Business diplomas, advanced diplomas, and degree programs, 14 in total, have been accredited globally at our Schools of Accounting & Finance, HR, Management, and Marketing. George Brown is now one of only two colleges in Ontario to have earned ACBSP accreditation. 

Note: George Brown College has adopted a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiative. As a result, Centre for Business students registered in this program are required to bring their own laptops. Career Options

Graduates are prepared for careers in a wide range of business sectors including manufacturing, merchandising, service organizations, federal, provincial and municipal government offices, banks and other financial institutions. Graduates of the program have found employment as:

  • accounts analyst
  • accounts payable and receivable clerk
  • bookkeeper
  • customer service representative

Educational Pathways

This two-year diploma has a pathway to the Business Administration – Accounting B107/B157 three-year advanced diploma.

Degree Transfer Option

Graduate of the Business Administration – Accounting diploma may be eligible to transfer into in the Bachelor of Commerce (Financial Services) program. Eligibility will be assessed based on completion of the entire program, individual courses, and/or program GPA. For more information, please contact either:

Designations

Graduates of this program may wish to pursue membership with the Association of Chartered Certificate Accountants (ACCA). For more information please visit the ACCA website.

The B103 program is accredited by ACCA until December 30, 2022. Graduates of B103 before this date are entitled to the following exemptions:
