George Brown Polytechnic’s second annual Legacy in the Making celebration brought together graduates, families, faculty, and staff for an evening that honoured the achievements, resilience, and impact of Black students completing their studies this year

Today we are spotlighting Indigenous creator Falen Johnson, who is Mohawk and Tuscarora (Bear Clan) from Six Nations Grand River Territory. She is a writer and podcaster, notable graduate of the George Brown Theatre School, and a previous Coordinator of the Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance.

A $500,000 gift from Scotiabank’s ScotiaRISE initiative will help George Brown Polytechnic expand the ReNEW Career Readiness Program, supporting internationally trained professionals and funding scholarships for women and girls facing barriers to education and employment.
