George Brown College faculty members can access most of their students’ accommodation plans through the Faculty Web Portal.
If you are a non-GBC faculty, you or the program coordinator will receive your students’ accommodation plans via email from an accessibility consultant. Accessible Learning Services (ALS) is unable to upload accommodation plans to the Faculty Web Portal for non-GBC faculty due to restricted access to the course registration system.
Where do I find student accommodation plans?
The Faculty Web Portal is a central location that allows you to conveniently access student accommodation plans through George Brown’s secure network.
When student accommodation plans are active, ALS will send an automatic email notification to you with a link to the portal where you can log in to view and/or download the plan. The portal displays accommodation plans in two convenient ways — by course or by student name. If changes are made to an accommodation plan, a new notification email is sent to faculty providing you with the link to the updated plan.
What if my student’s accommodation plan is not available on the portal?
One of the following reasons will likely account for why your student’s accommodation plan is not available on the portal:
- You are a non-GBC faculty: ALS is unable to upload accommodation plans for non-GBC faculty due to restricted access to the course registration system. In these situations, you will receive an email from an accessibility consultant with a copy of the student’s accommodation plan. It is the student’s responsibility to contact their accessibility consultant each semester and provide their faculty email addresses.
- Log-in issue: GBC faculty must log in using their employee ID only (do not include @georgebrown.ca). If you are still experiencing issues logging in, please contact the accessibility consultant assigned to your program area.
- Accommodation plan not renewed: If the student has not renewed their accommodation plan for the current semester, please encourage them to contact their accessibility consultant to ensure their accommodation plan has not expired.
