The Assaulted Women's and Children's Counsellor/Advocate (AWCCA) (Accelerated) program will prepare you to provide anti-oppressive counselling and advocacy for survivors of gender-based violence.Apply to this accelerated program stream if you have an existing diploma or degree and work/volunteer experience in feminist organizations and programs and are interested in accelerating your career as a counsellor/advocate for survivors of gender-based violence.If you apply to the 2024/25 intake for this program, you will begin your studies in May 2025. Topics include manufacturing protocol, engineering drawing, solid modelling (Solidworks), precision machining, quality control, CNC machining with Mastercam, pneumatics/electro-pneumatic circuits, and microprocessor control systems. Coursework emphasizes practical techniques through applied learning and hands-on lab activities.

If you're a mature student who hasn't completed grade 12 and wants to obtain a certificate, diploma, or degree, then this program is for you.Through a personalized assessment, we'll identify your strengths and areas for growth. You'll then participate in targeted learning activities to enhance your skills, which may include reading, writing, math, and/or science. We also offer individual counselling supports, along with academic and career advising.With multiple intakes throughout the year and options for full-time or part-time study, our program is tailored to accommodate your personal needs. You'll need to complete a reading and writing assessment to make sure the program is the right fit for you and that you receive the proper placement.PLEASE NOTE: Applicants will have the choice between courses offered in-person and online, subject to availability. Registered students who are regularly attending the program may be eligible to receive a transportation subsidy, a netbook, and/or monthly Internet device.

Academic Upgrading for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Adults (A752) is a tuition-free program for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students who want to upgrade their English, ASL, and math for success in further education, training, or employment.PLEASE NOTE: Students will have the choice to take some courses either in-person (on-campus) or online, subject to availability. Registered students who are regularly attending the program may be eligible to receive a transportation subsidy, a netbook, and/or monthly Internet device.

The College Vocational one-year certificate program is for students who identify mild intellectual disability or neurodiversity as a barrier to being successful in the workplace. Our inclusive program will help you develop your skills in the areas of communication, teamwork, self-awareness, self-advocacy, and give you the confidence to achieve your goals.This program is suitable for those who have graduated from high school with an Ontario Secondary School Certificate (OSSC) or Diploma (OSSD) and workplace credits. 

Construction Craft Worker (A106) is a free, 18-week supported education program for students who identify mental health and/or addictions challenges as a barrier to education and employment. In a hands-on, small group setting, with experiential work opportunities and job-coaching support, you'll develop the skills you need for entry-level work in Toronto's construction industry. This program was developed in collaboration with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and is unique in Canada.

George Brown College’s Culinary Skills (A110) is a free, supportive program designed to help those who face mental health or addictions challenges reach their education and employment goals. We'll prepare you for entry-level work in Toronto's food service industry, through a combination of small-group learning, job coaching support, and experiential work opportunities.

George Brown College’s Human Services Foundations (A113) is a two-semester program designed to kick-start your career journey. In a supportive learning environment, you'll strengthen your academic skills and be ready for an entry-level role in human services or further education in a variety of human services-related diploma programs. You'll learn about sociology and psychology and improve your communication and teamwork skills, while understanding how systemic issues affect individuals and communities. Together with classmates, you'll explore personal and professional goals and career pathway options for a successful career in human services.

The Pre-Business (A146) one-year certificate program will give you the skills you need to succeed in diploma programs and/or prepare you for entry-level jobs in the business world. You'll learn about the fundamentals in business, marketing, accounting, math, and communication, while earning credits toward diploma-level programs. After completing this program, you'll be able to apply for admission into the second semester of some of our Business Diploma programs.

George Brown College’s Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees one-year certificate program paves the way for your success in advanced diploma and degree-level health science programs.In our nurturing learning environment, you'll uncover the many possibilities that the world of health sciences offers. The Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas one-year certificate program will prepare you for admission to a variety of Health Sciences diploma programs, like our Practical Nursing (S121) diploma program. You'll take courses in biology, chemistry, applied math, communications, career readiness preparation, and general electives. You'll also benefit from the support of a pathway specialist who will help you navigate college and create a realistic action plan for the next steps in your education. PLEASE NOTE: If you're interested in pursuing a three-year advanced diploma or four-year degree program at the college or university level, you should apply to our Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees (A108) program.
