Co-op & Internship
Why choose George Brown’s Centre for Business?
WHAT IS WORK EXPERIENCE?
A co-op or internship gives students a chance to apply the knowledge they have gained in their program in a workplace, learning hands-on and enhancing their skills. Students gain critical work experience, establish contacts with potential employers
and extend their professional network for their future career plans.
Students spend at least one four-month term working full-time or part-time in a co-op or internship related to their program of study. Advanced Diploma (with work experience) students must complete two work terms or one ‘back-to-back’ work term with
each work term totalling 10 weeks and 360 hours. Graduate Certificate students must complete one work term totalling 10 weeks and 360 hours. Degree students are available on a part-time or full-time basis. Although all Degree positions must be
paid, there is no minimum number of hours or weeks, and they can start at any time of the year.
Co-op Work Experience Terms are paid and Internships are unpaid.
