What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is known as the world’s largest generosity movement. It was created as a simple idea: A day that encourages people to do good — help a neighbour or stranger, show up for an issue you care about, or give some of what you have to those in need.

This year’s Giving Tuesday takes place on December 2nd, and at the George Brown College Foundation, we truly feel it is an amazing opportunity for Canadians to band together and donate to an important cause. We are proud to participate in this global initiative again in 2025.

SUPPORT THE STUDENT ASSOCIATION OF George Brown Polytechnic’S STUDENT NUTRITION ACCESS PROGRAM (SNAP)

Join us during the season of giving and, together, let’s raise $10,000 to support SNAP!

This year, the George Brown College Foundation will be raising funds in support of SNAP. This program provides access to nutritious food and wellness resources through the SNAP Pantry and after-hours food lockers, where students can pick up weekly food items. Furthermore, programs like Nourish ’n Go, Kickstart breakfast, Chef’s Meals to Go, and the community garden offer additional support. Alongside food access programs, SNAP also provides nutrition education, workshops, and referrals to community services.

Your donation to SNAP will make a positive and tangible impact on students. Your support will help students address food insecurity and develop healthy, sustainable habits during their studies.
