What is the Health eHome?
While a substantial amount of today’s health care delivery takes place in institutional settings, more clients are receiving treatment in their own homes. To better prepare you and to provide you with a broad range of training opportunities that reflect this shift in the workplace, we have created a simulated home apartment.
The Health eHome environment replicates a bachelor apartment setting and includes a living room, a bedroom, a kitchen and a washroom. This simulated living space offers you a controlled environment where you can practice the skills you will use when caring for clients in their own homes.
We understand that nutrition and food preparation play an important part of home care delivery. We have worked with a chef from our nutrition program to design a special ‘demonstration kitchen’ where you will learn to prepare and cook nutritious meals for clients.
As an educational institution, we are committed to exploring new and better ways of doing things. Our Research and Innovation team work closely with sector partners who use our facilities to test and develop products before they hit the marketplace. As a student, this means you get exposed to real-time product development and get to participate in unique projects.
