At George Brown College we are committed to providing our students with hands-on learning in real-world environments. That's why we've created the WAVE Fitness Studios – a fitness facility where students learn how to work with clients and hone their skills – all under the supervision of faculty.

Become a WAVE fitness client and take advantage of personal training packages* at very competitive prices, free group exercise classes, and complimentary fitness assessments.

To register for fitness services, please visit the WAVE Client Services Reception located on the 3rd floor of the Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences, Waterfront Campus at 51 Dockside Drive.

Personal Training Package*

Personal training package includes:

  • One fitness assessment
  • Nutrition and fitness counseling
  • One weekly personal training session for two consecutive terms sessions (9 sessions - Fall term, 5 sessions - Winter term)
  • Use of fitness studios during hours of operation throughout the school year (September to April).

*To meet student outcomes, clients are required to commit to weekly training sessions with a student trainer for two consecutive terms, beginning in September. Specific dates are available at time of registration. Please note that training sessions are suspended at specific times during the semester.

+GBC Retirees must be a member of the GBCRA and provide their employee number to qualify.

Fees for September 2018

This term we are pleased to offer discounted rates in recognition of reduced Waterfront space while our lower exercise studios are unavailable because of construction. We’ll be using our beautiful upper studio (323) exclusively until further notice, and offering aerobic classes on Monday afternoons at the St. James Campus.  We’re hopeful that in January 2019 we’ll be back to using three spaces! The revised rates are:

Community Members: $75/ year
Students/ Staff/ Faculty/ Seniors $50/ year

Fitness Studio Access Only $25/ year. These memberships are available after the first 35 membership spots are filled.

Studios open Monday September 24th to Friday December 14th, and again beginning January 2019.

12p.m. – 2p.m., 5-6p.m.

Thursday 11a.m – 6 p.m.
Friday 12p.m. – 4 p.m.

Join us Mondays at the St. James Campus  Aerobics studio for classes beginning at 4:00p.m. and 5:00p.m.!

Please note that the schedule will be modified during the Intersession Week and the schedule will be posted.
