Students who are in the Design Management postgraduate program come to George Brown College with prior education and work experience from various design disciplines/industries such as architecture, industrial design, UX/UI design, interior design, etc… These students come to George Brown College to learn how to apply design management strategies in their field. Tasks that students can complete will vary based on the student’s field of design. Here is a brief overview of some of the tasks our students are skilled to complete by field of design:

Architecture:

  • Skilled in tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhinoceros
  • Develop spatial design
  • Construction estimation
  • Technical drawings

Interior Design:

  • Concept design, schematic design, space planning
  • Develop interior architecture plans
  • Design consultations

UX/UI:

  • Research and design
  • Usability testing
  • Wireframing
  • 3D visualization of the space

We encourage employers to reach out to the Field Education Office to see what design fields our students have a background in when you are ready to hire.
