A Message from the chair – share your thoughts on George Brown’s next president

Main Content

After almost two decades of dedicated service as George Brown College’s president, Anne Sado will retire at the end of June 2021. On behalf of the Board of Governors, we are incredibly grateful to Anne for her leadership throughout a tremendous period of growth and transformative change.

We want to continue to build on Anne’s incredible momentum as we engage in an executive search for her successor. I’m pleased to announce that Phelps Group was selected as the executive search firm of choice as the result of an RFP process. Phelps is an independent, third-party executive search firm with extensive experience in recruiting key senior executives for post-secondary institutions, and they will assist the college in our search.

This search process will be highly consultative. We will ask for input from a diversity of stakeholders including senior leaders of the college, industry partners, alumni, union leaders, the George Brown Foundation, students and employees. As per our governing legislation, the GBC Board of Governors will make the final selection of the next president.

Once we have compiled all stakeholder feedback, we will create the job posting and proceed with the executive search. We anticipate that the job will be posted before the end of February.

I will continue to provide you with updates throughout this process and look forward to hearing more from you as we embark on this exciting new chapter.

Sincerely,

Kevin Costante
Chair, Board of Governors
