Biography

Gulay Turkvan works as the Assistant to the Chair in the ESL department of George Brown College. Gulay brings a Teaching English degree to the department and comes from a culture rich background. She spent a number of years working in different countries as part of her professional career, before joining George Brown where she has been since 2004. This continuous journey of hers has given Gulay a truly remarkable experience in a culture rich atmosphere where challenges turn into positive opportunities every single day at the college. Gulay, besides enjoying this colorful work environment, makes sure her humble contribution of this positive energy is always there.Helping students in early days of their career paths is a very satisfying commitment for most in the department. Not to mention her coordination and administrative duties in ESL, Gulay truly enjoys supporting her Chair on a daily basis where she manages the Chair's schedule, works on contracts, deals with HR and finance departments to name a few.
