In 2005, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) passed, mandating accessibility standards for all levels of government and private and public businesses across the province. This mandate helped open the doors for Deaf and Deafblind communities, and with that came a need for interpreters and intervenors. In this career path, you'll have the opportunity to work with clients across the lifespan, from children to seniors, providing a tremendous impact on clients' lives.
Our programs are open to Deaf and non-Deaf students. You'll study American Sign Language and English while learning about Deaf and Deafblind culture. Programs in this school are an excellent choice for those passionate about communication and who want to make a difference.

- American Sign Language & Deaf Studies (C114) program — a one-year certificate that introduces you to the language and culture of the Deaf community.
- Deafblind & Intervenor Studies (C158) — a one-year certificate that will train you to work with Deaf and Deafblind consumers. This program starts in September each year.
- Honours Bachelor of Interpretation (American Sign Language - English) (C302) — a four-year degree that will train you to work as a professional English and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter.
