Overview

Program Overview

Apparel Fit Technicians are able to recognize good apparel fit, identify fit problems and correct fit in ready-made garments. They apply ideal fit standards across different body types and fabrics. As a student in this program, you will also develop your customer service skills.

Full Description

As a student in the Apparel Fit Technician program, you will have the unique opportunity to learn valuable skills that are in demand in alteration, retail, bridal, costume and custom fit studios. You will acquire the skills to diagnose fit issues in women's and men's ready-made garments, recommend adjustments to correct fit and mark garments for alterations. Working knowledge of customer service and factors such as different fabrics are included to provide a suite of work-ready skills.

The Apparel Fit Technician program is offered through our School of Fashion and Jewellery and classes take place at our Fashion Exchange (FX), located at 63 Regent Park Blvd. FX is more than a learning lab; it's also a production facility readily accessible to local designers and fashion producers where you will be immersed in day-to-day apparel manufacturing operations.
