The Dental Assisting program provides the education required to work as a certified dental assistant (Levels I and II). As a student in this program, you will develop the skills, technical knowledge and clinical experience necessary to work in a professional, ethical and collaborative manner in a variety of settings.

The Dental Hygiene program teaches students the competencies and skills required to practise as a dental hygienist in the province of Ontario. This program focuses on developing interpersonal communication skills and professionalism while providing dental hygiene care.

Students in the Dental Technology program will develop the specialized skills of a dental technologist, including how to design and fabricate various oral devices that have been prescribed to a patient by a regulated dental practitioner (often a dentist). Throughout this program, you will learn to make a range of dental appliances such as full dentures, partial dentures, crowns, bridges, implant-related restorations, orthodontic appliances and other specialty items. 

Students in the Denturism program are educated within the guidelines of the denturist’s scope of practice. This includes assessment, treatment planning, design, fabrication and maintenance of various dental prostheses and oral devices.Please note: For the January 2025 intake, classes and labs will be held from Monday to Sunday any time between 8 am and 8 pm. This means students will be required to attend classes on weekends and/ or evenings.

The Honours Bachelor of Science (Dental Hygiene) is an online one-year degree completion program in dental hygiene. Apply to this program if you are a dental hygienist interested in expanding your career and educational pathway opportunities.PLEASE NOTE: This program intake starts in May 2025. To begin your studies in May 2024, apply to the 2023/24 intake. 

The Restorative Dental Hygiene (Postgraduate) program is open to registered dental hygienists who have a minimum of one year of work experience. Students will learn how to perform advanced restorative procedures and preventive measures. Those interested in advancing their skill set and expanding their scope of clinical practice should consider this program. 

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is offered collaboratively between George Brown College, Toronto Metropolitan University, and Centennial College. This four-year degree is a requirement for anyone wishing to work as a registered nurse in the province of Ontario. This program, offered across all three sites, provides diverse clinical placements, simulation-based education, and interactive teaching and learning. Graduates can write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), apply for registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and pursue nursing positions in a variety of health-care settings. This program is accredited by the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing (CASN).

The Interprofessional Complex and Long-Term Care program is a two-semester graduate certificate that prepares graduates to lead, manage or co-ordinate a team of interprofessional health-care providers in complex and long-term care environments. This program is delivered online.

The Personal Support Worker (PSW) program teaches students the skills required to provide or assist with personal care for the elderly, the chronically ill, and persons with accessibility challenges. These patients may live in the community, in long-term care facilities, or in select ambulatory care settings.Classes for this two-semester program are held at our state-of-the-art Daphne Cockwell Centre for Health Sciences at Waterfront Campus and are scheduled between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Students can expect to participate in faculty-supervised clinical practicums that take place in various settings across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Shift hours may vary between day and/or evenings depending upon the practice setting.

The one-semester Personal Support Worker Pathway to Practical Nursing program prepares Personal Support Worker (PSW) graduates for entry into the Practical Nursing (PN) program. This full-time program focuses on strengthening the academic skills required by the PN program. If you apply to the May 2024/25 intake for this program, you will start in May 2025. To begin your studies in May 2024, apply to the 2023/24 academic year.

The Practical Nursing program teaches students the foundational skills required to work as a registered practical nurse in Ontario. Following successful completion of this program, graduates will be eligible to write the Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Registration Examinations—two qualifying examinations required by the Ontario College of Nurses.

The Registered Nurse – Critical Care Nursing program is a one-semester graduate certificate program that prepares registered nurses to provide safe, competent care to critically ill individuals and their families. 

Registered Nurse – Operating Room Perioperative Nursing (Postgraduate) is a graduate certificate program for registered nurses. In one semester, students will learn the skills required to work as an operating room nurse. This program includes both a theory and clinical practice component. 

The one-semester Registered Nurse – Perinatal Intensive Care Nursing (Postgraduate) (S404) program trains registered nurses to provide care for critically ill newborns and their families in an intensive care setting. 

The Registered Practical Nursing – Perioperative (Postgraduate) program prepares RPNs with the foundational theoretical and technical skills needed to work within their scope of practice in a perioperative setting. This program includes a theory and clinical practicum component.

The R.P.N. Bridge to B.Sc.N. two-semester bridging program provides registered practical nurses (RPNs) with the knowledge and skills necessary to enter Trent University's B.Sc.N. degree program offered on-site at George Brown.
