The Huskies made their presence known on the biggest stage in college athletics this month — bringing home two national medals for George Brown College.

The Huskies faced off against Keyano College in the CCAA Men's Basketball National Championship on Saturday, March 16. The hard-fought game was played at Mount Allison University and resulted in a silver medal for our team. It was the program’s best result since 1976.

Earlier in the month, Monique Lee and Giselle Kochapanya clinched the silver medal in Women's Doubles at the CCAA National Badminton Championships. The medal marked the best result in the discipline in the program’s history, following a gold medal performance at Provincials.

“Winning two national medals like this in the same year is an incredible achievement for the Huskies,” said Melanie Gerin-Lajoie, Manager, Athletics and Recreation. “We’re so proud of what these programs were able to accomplish. Not only does it show the strength and quality of our current teams and student-athletes, but it also paves the way for George Brown to keep participating at these top stages for years to come.”

The Huskies finish up the season with two national medals and three provincial medals. Congrats to our incredible athletes!
