GBC School of Architectural Studies Professor Pietro Ferrari appointed Interim Chair of Building Transformations Board of Directors

George Brown College’s School of Architectural Studies’ professor, Pietro Ferrari, has been appointed the Interim Chair of the Building Transformations Board of Directors. In this role, Pietro will work with the Board of Directors to optimize the organization's efforts to promote sustainable and innovative building practices.

Building Transformations is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable and innovative building practices in the architectural, engineering, construction, owner and operators (AECOO) industry. Pietro has been an integral part of Building Transformations (formerly CanBIM) for the past ten years, making significant contributions to the organization's growth and success and founding the organization's Certification Program, which benchmarks industry-recognized levels of professional competencies in BIM/Digital Project Delivery.

As the Interim Chair of the Board of Directors, Pietro will work with the Board to further optimize Building Transformations' mission. He will leverage his extensive experience and insight to contribute to the organization’s leadership role in advancing sustainable building practices and fostering innovation within the industry. Pietro's appointment reflects his exceptional dedication to the field and his commitment to driving positive change in the built environment.

Pietro has been a faculty member of GBC’s School of Architectural Studies since 2004 and Coordinator of the Architectural Technology Program for the last 12 years, where he has helped lead the adoption and integration of modern digital technologies and processes into the School of Architectural Studies’ programs and curriculum.

 

Pietro will lead the newly elected Executive Committee members at Building Transformations who manage the overall direction and governance for the organization on behalf of its members. He will maintain the Chair responsibility until the Board of Directors selects a new Chair after the organization’s fall annual meeting of the members.
