Kayden Scott - Aspiring Chef and Food Connoisseur

Kayden always had a passion for food. Food excited her, inspired her, and fulfilled her.

At the age of three, Kayden was diagnosed with a life threatening illness that changed her life forever. But that did not stop her from achieving her goals. Many of her dreams included food related aspirations with some of these dreams coming true. By the age of nine, Kayden was able to work on a food truck, meet Chef Michael Smith and take her first culinary class. She did all of this while still facing health challenges and with the uncertainty of her own future.

It was Kayden's dream to become a chef when she grew up. Instead of waiting, she was able to attend a culinary class at George Brown College. Kayden impressed her teacher and class with her knowledge and skills. This was followed by a gourmet lunch at Canoe restaurant where she met Chef Michael Bonacini. This was her last food dream come true.

Kayden is an inspiration who faced adversity with grace, strength and passion. Her story has touched so many. Although Kayden is not here to fulfill her dreams of one day becoming a chef, she would be honoured to help others fulfill their dreams and allow her passion for food to live on. The Kayden Scott endowment fund will create scholarships for students enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program.
