Academic Upgrading is a full-time day program for students who need to improve their reading, writing, math, computer, and study skills. Upgrading prepares students for post-secondary study, further skills training, or employment.

Students are placed according to assessment results and academic or employment goals in Literacy and Basic Skills Level 4, Level 5, or ACE (Academic and Career Entrance). Courses in science are also offered at the ACE level. Students are provided with advising services and may be eligible for a transportation allowance. The program runs year-round and has a monthly intake.
