George Brown College’s English as a Second Language (ESL) (Part-Time) Certificate is an accelerated hybrid program to develop your English language skills for personal, professional, and academic purposes. With eight levels catering to every skill level, from beginner to advanced, you'll find your perfect fit. Each level runs for six weeks and includes a mix of activities that will strengthen your reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. You'll also get to choose from an array of elective courses tailored to your unique needs, for a personalized learning experience.

George Brown College’s English for Academic Purposes for International Students (EAP) (R115) will help you level up your English language skills as an international student. We’ll prepare you for your exciting journey into post-secondary study and future careers. Our EAP program not only helps you improve your English but also opens doors to a vibrant student life with exciting co- and extracurricular events and workshops.

Academic Upgrading (A751) is a tuition-free program designed to reduce barriers to accessing and succeeding in post-secondary education. If you're a mature student who hasn't completed grade 12 and wants to obtain a certificate, diploma, or degree, then this program is for you.Through a personalized assessment, we'll identify your strengths and areas for growth. You'll then participate in targeted learning activities to enhance your skills, which may include reading, writing, math, and/or science. We also offer individual counselling supports, along with academic and career advising.With multiple intakes throughout the year and options for full-time or part-time study, our program is tailored to accommodate your personal needs. You'll need to complete a reading and writing assessment to make sure the program is the right fit for you and that you receive the proper placement.PLEASE NOTE: Applicants will have the choice between courses offered in-person and online, subject to availability. Registered students who are regularly attending the program may be eligible to receive a transportation subsidy, a netbook, and/or monthly Internet device.

Construction Craft Worker (A106) is a free, 18-week supported education program for students who identify mental health and/or addictions challenges as a barrier to education and employment. In a hands-on, small group setting, with experiential work opportunities and job-coaching support, you'll develop the skills you need for entry-level work in Toronto's construction industry. This program was developed in collaboration with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and is unique in Canada.

Transitions to Post-Secondary Education (A107) is a free, supportive, three-semester program that helps those who face mental health or addictions challenges reach their education and employment goals.
