Apprenticeship Programs

George Brown Polytechnic is proud to be one of Ontario's largest apprenticeship training providers.

How apprenticeship works:

  1. Find an employer: Secure a position with a qualified employer who will sponsor your apprenticeship.
  2. Register with the Ministry: Complete registration with Skilled Trades Ontario.
  3. Training: Complete the required in-school training at George Brown Polytechnic and on-the-job hours.
  4. Certification: Successfully complete your apprenticeship and qualify for your Certificate of Qualification.

We offer programs in various skilled trades, including:

Construction Trades

Pre-apprenticeship programs

Not quite ready for an apprenticeship? Our one-year pre-apprenticeship certificate programs provide the perfect starting point to explore the trades and build foundational skills before committing to a specific path, either with an apprenticeship, full-time diploma or degree program.
