Life has ups and downs for lots of different reasons. Sometimes people aren’t sure what they want to do next. Our WISDOM program helps you take a step back to ask questions, like “Who am I? ” and “What will make me happy?”.
What is Nibwaakaawen (WISDOM)?
Nibwaakaawen (WISDOM) includes all of the program benefits from our CHOICES program with modifications designed to support Indigenous learners 18 years and older.
WISDOM incorporates a variety of cultural teachings and elements that honour Indigenous ways of teaching and learning.
- Develop greater self-awareness
- Set personal goals to meet your future objectives
- Small group setting
- Supportive learning environment
- Activities include class participation and self-reflection exercises
- Explore careers and educational pathway options
- Create a personal values statement to guide your decisions
WISDOM helps you learn about yourself and set goals for the future:
- You’ll work in a small group setting and participate in activities and reflective exercises.
- You’ll have a chance to write a personal values statement, explore careers and educational pathways, and set personal goals.
- Guest speakers from George Brown will talk to you about the supports available to help you with postsecondary education.
By the end of the week, you’ll have a clear action plan and our coach will help you move to your next steps.

- Must be 18 years or older
- Open to permanent residents of Ontario
- Open to Indigenous learners only

This tuition-free program is generously funded by Employment Ontario.

6 days split over two weeks for three hours per day, plus a one-one coaching session
