George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
Strategy 2030: Shaping Our Polytechnic Future for Opportunity and Impact
George Brown Polytechnic is setting its course through 2030. Our strategy has three main priorities: creating more opportunities for learners, building partnerships that benefit our communities, and strengthening the institution that supports this work.
Students, employees, alumni, and partners helped shape this plan. It explains where we'll focus our efforts, what we want to achieve, and how we'll measure our progress along the way.
Three priorities. One shared direction.
Each priority addresses a different part of our future: the education we offer, the partnerships we build, and how George Brown operates. Explore what each one means for the people and communities we serve.
Priority 1: Every learner ready and confident for what's next
Learning doesn't follow a single path.
We're expanding options across certificates, diplomas, degrees, and applied master's programs, with more flexible pathways and hands-on experiences that prepare learners for their next steps.
Priority 2: Collaborative partnerships for polytechnic impact
Partnerships should create opportunities for everyone involved.
We're strengthening relationships with industry, Indigenous communities, educational institutions, and other organizations to expand applied learning, support research, and address shared challenges.
Priority 3: One George Brown, positioned for the future
Great learning depends on what happens behind the scenes, too.
We're working to improve services, strengthen our financial foundations, and maintain the technology and spaces our community relies on.
Shaped By Our Community
Our future is something we're building together. That's why we invited students, employees, alumni, industry partners, and community members to help shape Strategy 2030.
Through surveys, focus groups, listening sessions, and interviews, people called for more flexible learning options, stronger connections across George Brown, and clearer accountability. Their feedback helped shape the priorities at the heart of Strategy 2030.

Putting People First
At George Brown, we believe our decisions should start with the people they affect. That means listening to different perspectives, removing barriers, and creating an environment where everyone can learn, contribute, and succeed.
This human-centred approach is at the heart of Strategy 2030. Guided by our values of Learners and Learning, Equity and Belonging, Collaboration and Community, Accountability, and Sustainability, we're working to make George Brown a more welcoming, accessible, and connected place.
Tracking Our Progress
A strategy is only as meaningful as the progress behind it. As we put Strategy 2030 into action, we'll share updates on what we're doing, what we've achieved, and where there's still work to do.
We'll also highlight important milestones and the people, projects, and partnerships helping us move forward. It's one way we're staying accountable to our community and keeping everyone informed along the way.
