Programming Highlights
International Recognition:
Fourteen Centre for Business programs are internationally recognized by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). George Brown Polytechnic also partners with the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation North America to create more opportunities for students to enter the logistics and transportation industry. And our Honours Bachelor of Technology (Construction Management) program is Ontario’s first internationally accredited four-year program specializing in construction management.
Learning in Employer Spaces:
Several of our programs are fully delivered in employer spaces – including our Orthotics & Prosthetics programs at Sunnybrook Hospital and our theatre programs at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts.
Industry-Responsive Programming:
We’ve launched cutting-edge programming in electric vehicle technology, cybersecurity, supply chain, esports management and more in response to industry needs and technological change. Programs such as our Electromechanical Engineering Technology – Power and Control program have been designed in close collaboration with local employers.
Supporting our Community:
The college operates a network of 14 child care centres across Toronto as well as on-site Wellness Applied Research and Visionary Education (WAVE) Clinics that offer dental, hearing and wellness services to approximately 3,000 clients annually.
Thought Leadership:
Throughout the calendar year, we offer symposia, conferences, talks, indigenous knowledge-sharing events, and fireside chats to foster dialogue and exposure to new ideas. We are pleased to host an annual PEN writer-in-residence at the college and have recently launched the Brookfield Sustainability Institute to create new climate change solutions.
State-of-the-Art Facilities:
We are the first college, nursing school and simulation centre to be accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH). Our Daphne Cockwell Faculty of Health Sciences offers over 63,000 square feet of clinical and simulation space including an operating room, dental clinics, hearing clinics, demonstration kitchens and highfidelity mannequins.
Teaching and Learning Development
Our Teaching and Learning Exchange (TLX) offers a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) certificate as well as micro-certifications in Teaching with Cases and Foundations of Teaching Excellence.
Our professors are industry experts who use interactive and engaging approaches to share their expertise and real-world knowledge with students.
George Brown Polytechnic presents at conferences such as the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education’s 2023 annual conference on topics such as UDL and bridging the gap between TESOL research directions (Teaching English to Speaker of Other Languages) and English language teachers’ everyday practices.

As a nationally ranked research college and an accredited member of Polytechnics Canada, we are proud to be at the forefront of cutting-edge research and innovation projects.
