Chef School students at George Brown Polytechnic enjoy many opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills in a real-world setting at The Chef School.

The Café features students serving students. It offers a broad selection of casual fresh and healthy meals prepared by third-semester Integrated Culinary students under the direction of chef technologists.

Students working in The Café get to apply techniques learned in the classroom to practical use, complete a required field placement, and gain first-hand experience in running a bakery.

The Café provides yet another experience-based learning opportunity for culinary arts students, giving them the chance to prepare food for their fellow students, college staff and the general public.

Students serve up creative options for every time of the day, including hot breakfast sandwiches, fresh-baked muffins, pizza, sandwiches, salads, hot entrees and afternoon snacks. There are even a number of preserves available for purchase to stock up your cupboards at home.

If you need to grab a quick before-class breakfast, lunch or dinner, The Café is open Monday to Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on the second floor of The Chef School building at 300 Adelaide St. E.

Chef School students also serve up good takeout lunch and dinner fare, as well as baked items, at Chef on the Run, Monday to Friday between noon and 3 p.m. in the CHCA building.

Be sure to follow The Café on Twitter @GBCCAFE for the latest updates on meals and deals!
