George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has published new PGWP eligibility requirements for students who apply for a study permit on or after November 1, 2024, which include graduating from a program linked to one of five priority fields of study: agriculture and agri-food, healthcare, science/technology/engineering/mathematics (STEM), trade and transport, and education. You can also check if your field of study is eligible on the IRCC webpage.
Students who applied for a study permit before November 1, 2024, do not need to meet the field of study requirement for PGWP. Students are still required to meet all other eligibility requirements for PGWP including the language proficiency exam if submitting the PGWP application on or after November 1, 2024.
George Brown Polytechnic's PGWP eligible programs are currently aligned with IRCC’s field of study requirements. This list may be updated with additional programs or changes to term availability, so please check back often.
Please check with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for more information on PGWP program eligibility by visiting the IRCC webpage.
