George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
General Education provides college graduates with the knowledge, skills, and understanding in three major categories established by the College Standards and Accreditation Council. The three major categories are:
- Arts and Humanities (GHUM courses),
- Social Sciences (GSSC courses)
- Science and Technology (GSCI courses).
In order to graduate you must complete the General Education requirements for your program. Additionally, there are mandated General Education courses for some programs.
Some electives can be changed in STU-VIEW. Please see How do I add/drop a course? for instructions. This must be done within the established deadline to add a course.
If you are unable to change your electives or an elective course you are interested in is not offered within your program or in your course selection, then please contact the General Education and Liberal Studies office for assistance.
Alternatively, you can also register for electives from our Continuing Education website. Please note that additional fees will apply as these electives are not included in the full time tuition fees for the semester. You will pay for the course through the Continuing Education website.
