Youth in Trades Access & Opportunity Scholarship (YTAOS)

Main Content

Designed for youth who may be facing financial or social barriers, this scholarship supports students in taking the first step toward a stable and meaningful future through hands-on training and skilled trades education. By providing support at the point of entry, the scholarship helps students begin their programs with greater confidence, stability, and opportunity. It reflects George Brown Polytechnic’s commitment to expanding access to education and creating pathways into high-demand skilled trades careers.

This scholarship is made possible through the generous support of the Gordon and Ruth Gooder Charitable Foundation, whose commitment is helping open doors for youth to pursue meaningful pathways to training, employment, and long-term career growth.

Amount of Award

10 recipients will each receive $5,000 in entrance support to help cover the costs of starting a skilled trades program.
