Full Description

Transform your ideas into compelling visual and functional interfaces with our one-year Web Development – Front-End Design graduate certificate program. This innovative program teaches you to create high-impact websites, applications, and systems that respond to diverse client needs in the health care, fintech, retail and technology sectors.

Our program sets a new standard for application development, focusing on five core pillars: accessible user interface design (UI), intuitive user experience design (UX), industry workflow and problem-solving skills, full-stack application architecture and front-end development. Designed to meet industry demands, this program equips you with the skills necessary for effective communication and development in the digital economy.

Your Field Education Options

In Semester 3 of the Web Development – Front-End Design program, students select from two work-integrated learning (WIL) courses: DESN 3043 – Front-End Design Field Placement or DESN 3053 – Work-Integrated Project

Please note:
International students are not eligible to enrol in DESN 3043 – Front-End Design Field Placement. As this is a non-mandatory WIL course, co-op work permits are not issued for participation in this elective. For inquiries regarding eligibility and work permits, please visit Permits and Visas – George Brown Polytechnic.

Effective September 2025DESN 3043 – Front-End Design Field Placement will become the required WIL course for all students in Semester 3. As a mandatory course, this will enable international students to apply for a co-op work permit in connection with the placement. This policy change does not apply to international students commencing the program in May 2025.

For further information regarding eligibility and work permits, please consult Permits and Visas – George Brown Polytechnic.
