What is AppsAnywhere?

AppsAnywhere is George Brown Polytechnic's software portal that gives students, faculty, and staff free access to academic software from virtually anywhere. Through AppsAnywhere, users can launch college-licensed applications on eligible devices without visiting a campus computer lab. The service supports learning, teaching, coursework, and research by providing convenient access to required software both on and off campus.

Who Can Use AppsAnywhere?

AppsAnywhere is available to:

  • Current George Brown Polytechnic students
  • Faculty members
  • Staff members

Access may vary depending on course, program, departmental licensing requirements, and software vendor restrictions.

What Software is Available Through AppsAnywhere?

AppsAnywhere provides access to software used across many George Brown Polytechnic programs, including:

  • Design and creative applications
  • Engineering and drafting software
  • Statistical analysis tools
  • Programming and development environments
  • Business and productivity applications
  • Program-specific course software

Examples of software that may be available through AppsAnywhere include:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop

Note: Software availability varies by course, program, and licensing agreements. Students may see different applications depending on their academic requirements.

What are System/browser Requirements for Using AppsAnywhere?

  • AppsAnywhere Client v1.2.0
  • Cloudpaging Player v9.1.9
  • 64-bit Windows 7 or 10
  • Recommended 8 GB memory
  • All major browsers are supported: Edge, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome
  • 64-bit or 32-bit applications, check individual application requirements on the AppsAnywhere portal
  • High-speed internet connection (50 Mbps or greater)

Please note: OSX (Apple), iOS (iPhone/iPad), Android, and Linux are not supported.

How to Access AppsAnywhere?

All you have to do to access the entire library is install AppsAnywhere on your device, and then you're ready to go!

When you first visit AppsAnywhere, use your George Brown student ID number, password, and multi-factor authentication (MFA). When prompted, choose “It’s my first time using AppsAnywhere on this device” then click and run the downloaded file and complete the installation. (You will download both AppsAnywhere Client 1.2.0 and Cloudpaging Player 9.04.)

Once you launch any application from the website, it will install a client and Cloudpaging Player. It will only do the installation once. Cloudpaging Player is like a player that has a list of all the applications that you have launched from AppsAnywhere.

How Does AppsAnywhere Work?

AppsAnywhere provides access to George Brown Polytechnic software through a centralized portal. After signing in and installing the required components, users can browse approved applications and launch software based on their course, program, or licensing permissions.

Does AppsAnywhere work on Mac?

No. Mac is not supported.
