About the Play

Written by Mark Brownell
Directed by Sue Miner*

Raise a glass with Dionysus! A thrilling reimagining of Euripides' Bacchae, this bold contemporary production transports the ancient tragedy to the gritty, electric streets of 1970s New York—alive with artistic revolution, social upheaval, and the seductive promise of liberation. A visceral collision between order and chaos erupts on stage. Oh, what a feeling. What a rush.
