George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
George Brown Polytechnic has unveiled its newest campaign, George BrOWN Your Tomorrow. A bold reimagining of the institution's approach to post-secondary education that positions students as architects of their own futures.
The campaign launches as George Brown embraces its polytechnic designation, signaling an expanded commitment to applied, industry-informed learning from diplomas to our newly launched master's degree.
The multi-phase initiative is a strategic shift in how George Brown communicates its value proposition in an increasingly competitive post-secondary landscape, moving from institution-centric messaging to a student-first approach emphasizing empowerment, possibility, and career readiness.
A competitive edge in a crowded market
In Toronto's saturated post-secondary environment, the OWN campaign distinguishes George Brown by amplifying the institution's long-standing commitment to practical, applied learning, real-world experience, and direct industry collaboration.
Prospective students are invited to take control of their futures, alumni can access continuous upskilling opportunities and stack their credentials, and industry partners can access job-ready graduates equipped with cutting-edge practices, knowledge and experiences. This multi-stakeholder approach creates a comprehensive ecosystem that reinforces George Brown's role as a bridge between education and employment.
"This campaign reflects our evolution as an institution and our unwavering commitment to student success, partnerships and communities," said Dr. Gervan Fearon, President of George Brown Polytechnic. "As we expand our academic offerings to meet the demands of an ever-changing workforce, we're doubling down on what has always made George Brown exceptional: putting opportunity directly in the hands of our learners. It's a promise that every program, from our diplomas to our master's degree, will be rooted in applied learning and industry relevance."
Speaking to today's students
This campaign reflects our commitment to learners and learning by prioritizing student success, well-being, and real-world outcomes. It recognizes that today’s learners need education that is flexible, relevant, and responsive to their lives, while encouraging curiosity, innovation, and the discovery of potential.
Guided by equity, belonging, and collaboration, we support diverse and non-linear pathways through accessible programs, stackable credentials, and applied learning. Students are welcomed into an inclusive community built on respect, accountability, and integrity, where learning is connected to industry, shaped by shared responsibility, and designed to create positive social, economic, and environmental impact for future generations.
"We're here to build futures, and this campaign makes that promise tangible," said Leslie Quinlan, Senior Vice-President, People Enablement and Experience. "In a market where prospective students have countless options, 'George BrOWN Your Tomorrow' cuts through the noise by making it about them—their ambitions, their timelines, their definitions of success. We're not asking students to fit into our model; we're showing them how George Brown can adapt to support their vision.”
Multi-phase launch strategy
The official launch includes a refreshed website, an in-market campaign video premiering across all platforms, an updated social media presence reflecting our polytechnic identity, and a coordinated media strategy.
From January through April, the campaign will be amplified through integrated digital channels, social storytelling featuring student and alumni voices, and integration across admissions and recruitment materials, building momentum toward the Spring Open House.
The OWN campaign allows audiences to see themselves in the message—whether they're owning their future, their growth, their next steps, or their access to talent.
By reframing post-secondary education as an act of ownership rather than passive enrolment, George Brown Polytechnic positions itself not just as an institution students attend, but as a partner in building the futures they envision.
