Applications for the 2026–2027 Schulich Builders Scholarship open on February 9, 2026. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2026.

To apply, please complete the Schulich Builders Scholarship application through this page. The application takes approximately 20 minutes to complete.

You will be asked to provide:

    3. Student pathway (direct-entry or mature student)
    4. Educational or employment background
  2. Motivation & Employment Intent
    1. A short-written response outlining your motivation, employment goals, and qualifications (150 words or less)
    2. A short written response describing your employment goals after graduation and the steps you are taking to prepare for work (150 words or less)
  3. Financial Information
    1. A short essay outlining your financial need (150 words or less)
    2. A budget outlining expected expenses and resources for the academic year
  4. Community Engagement & Character
    1. A short essay outlining your community involvement, leadership, work, or caregiving responsibilities (150 words or less)
    2. One reference letter from a teacher, employer, community leader, or mentor who can speak to your character, reliability, and readiness for your chosen field.
  5. Nomination Information
    1. Confirmation of whether you were nominated for the scholarship
    2. Nominator details
  6. Scholarship Ambassadorship
    1. A recent head-and-shoulders portrait photograph, looking directly at the camera (used for donor recognition and stewardship if selected; consent to be confirmed)
  7. Selection Process
    1. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to participate in a brief virtual interview as part of the selection process.
  8. File Upload Requirements
    1. Reference letter: txt, rtf, pdf, doc, docx, odt, ppt, pptx, odp, xls, xlsx, ods
    2. Portrait photograph: gif, jpg, png, svg
    3. Maximum file size: 256 MB
    4. One file permitted per upload field

Shortlisting & Interview Process (Informational)

Shortlisted applicants may be invited to participate in an interview as part of the selection process. Interviews are used to better understand applicants’ career goals, motivation, and readiness for employment in the skilled trades.

NOTE: you will be required to provide SIN number if receiving the award (for CRA reporting purposes).

We will not, in any circumstances, share your personal information with other individuals or organizations, including public organizations, corporations or individuals, except when applicable by law. We do not sell, communicate or divulge your information to any mailing lists.
