George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
McMaster University is excited to share that applications are now open for the 2026 Startup Survivor Program & Pitch Competition - an entrepreneurship program that’s bigger and better than ever, thanks to generous funding from IP Ontario (IPON).
The Forge Business Incubator delivers this program with support from The Clinic at McMaster.
Startup Survivor is a summer entrepreneurship training program that offers $10,000 stipends to participants and a $30,000 pitch competition, designed for entrepreneurial students and recent alumni from all Ontario universities and colleges.
We’d be grateful if you could help us spread the word to your students, alumni, and networks. To make sharing easier, we’ve attached a one-page overview that can be forwarded or included in newsletters and online channels.
What the Program Offers
Participants join a hands-on summer program that includes:
$10,000 nondilutive funding
One-on-one mentorship
Milestone-based challenges
Practical workshops
Monthly cohort meetups
Investor Pitch Day with VCs
Coworking space at The Forge
Access to makerspace and prototyping support
All elements are designed to help early-stage founders rapidly validate, build, and grow their startups.
The program concludes with a $30K Pitch Competition, where top teams pitch their innovations on a public stage for additional funding.
Thanks to IPON’s support, we’ve doubled team funding, doubled cohort capacity, and expanded the program to all Ontario postsecondary students and recent alumni.
