Do you work in the trades and want to take your career to the next level? We’ve partnered with Algonquin and Mohawk colleges to launch a new degree for tradespeople that provides flexible learning so you can get the education to move your career forward and continue working.

The Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (Trades Management) program aims to promote career advancement for a range of professionals, such as tradespeople who want to expand their entrepreneurial horizons and grow their business, move up the ladder in their current work environment, or who want to pursue management positions in medium to large organizations.

“As the trades grapple with record-level worker shortages, workforce development in this sector will be critical. Skilled trades workers and leaders are essential to both our economy and our society – ensuring that we have the housing, infrastructure, and resources we all need. Skilled workers are crucial to gains in productivity and the competitiveness of our economy and the prosperity of all Canadians,” George Brown College President Dr. Gervan Fearon said.

“Our new degree is a prime example of how George Brown is developing programs and pathways to bolster the success of in-demand sectors and support Ontario’s post-pandemic recovery.”

The program starts in September 2022 and will be delivered virtually. Teachers from all three colleges will provide instruction throughout the program and students will choose which school will be their home college when they apply.

Students will complete the program with competencies in human resources, marketing, project management, and accounting and finance aspects of skilled trades business operations. The program also includes work-integrated learning components.
