New Appointments on the George Brown College Foundation Board of Directors

The George Brown College Foundation is pleased to announce several changes to its board of directors. Gary Teelucksingh, Chief Operating Officer, Capco, has been appointed Chair of the George Brown College Foundation Board of Directors, as Peter Lee completes his term as Chair. Gary brings his significant financial management experience to the post. As COO at Capco, a global business and technology management consulting firm, his specialty lies in wealth and investment management, banking, financial planning and brokerage. Gary holds a Master's degree in Mathematics that he obtained from the University of Western Ontario and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.

Leen Li, Chief Executive Officer, Wealthsimple Foundation, has been appointed Chair of George Brown College Foundation Finance and Investment Committees, taking up the post vacated as a result of Gary’s appointment. Leen brings over 20 years’ financial service and technology experience to the post and holds a Master’s of Business Administration Finance degree from St. Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Additionally, several other George Brown College Foundation board members have seen changes in their careers. Damon Murchison was recently appointed President and CEO, IG Wealth Management. Damon has more than 25 years of experience in financial investment management, having risen through the ranks of major financial institutions such as Fidelity Investments, Manulife Financial and Mackenzie Investments.  

Erin Griffiths has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Client Solutions & Direct Investing at Scotiabank. Erin is now responsible for Scotia Wealth Management’s Financial Planning and Insurance groups, as well as the Scotia iTRADE business.

Marissa Soumalias was recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of Mission Inc., a fundraising consulting company. Marissa is a philanthropy professional with over 12 years of experience in the charitable and not-for-profit sector.

Former Chair, Peter Lee, has stepped down from the George Brown College Foundation Board of Directors, having completed three terms of service. The Foundation extends its gratitude to Peter for his outstanding support and immeasurable service on its Board of Directors.
