Biography

Maxim Fishman is an accomplished senior learning strategist and organizational development leader with over a decade of experience building high-impact education programs from the ground up. Currently serving as Senior Director, Education & Training at GS1 Canada, Maxim has led the creation of multi-year, customer-focused learning strategies tailored to small and micro businesses, agrifood enterprises, and internal account management teams. He has successfully implemented subscriber-focused education on emerging technologies such as 2D barcodes and launched government-partnered eLearning initiatives in collaboration with the Canadian Ministry of Agriculture.

Before GS1, Maxim held senior leadership roles at Vendasta, TradeRev, and Vend POS, where he designed and executed global education strategies, large-scale onboarding programs, and executive mentorship initiatives across Canada, the U.S., and international markets. His programs consistently drove measurable results, including sales teams exceeding quotas and improved retention through leadership coaching and structured onboarding.

Maxim has repeatedly built and led cross-functional learning teams across multiple geographies, integrating data-driven insights into curriculum development and establishing organizational metrics for evaluating program success. His work is characterized by strategic vision, cross-sector collaboration, and a relentless focus on learner engagement and business outcomes.

Created and implemented from the ground up a sales training induction program that was organized to develop product knowledge and sales skills in a workforce of diverse backgrounds. Graduates of this program achieved 130% of their quota within 30 days of graduation.

Built from the ground up, an executive mentorship strategy that brought together high-achieving employees and paired them with members of the senior leadership team.
