Jess Bischoff
Biography
Jess Bischoff is a Toronto-based goldsmith and visual artist who obtained her BFA with distinction from OCADU (Drawing & Painting). She is also a graduate of the Jewellery Arts program at George Brown Polytechnic. The L.A. Pai Gallery in Ottawa represents her jewellery work, which has been included in exhibitions both nationally and internationally. In recognition of her work, she has received various awards and grants, as well as having been selected to become a full-time Artist-in-Residence (Metal) at Harbourfront Centre from 2022 to 2025. Since 2021, Jess has worked as part-time support staff at George Brown Polytechnic as both a Jewellery Technician Assistant and Jewellery Lab Assistant, aiding students and assisting professors in a variety of jewellery courses: goldsmithing, metal finishing, casting, enamelling, production techniques, model making, and jewellery repair. After assisting Professor Pawel Bruszewski in the Jewellery Repair 1 and Jewellery Repair 2 courses for several years (and learning much due to his guidance and extensive experience as a professional goldsmith), Jess began teaching Jewellery Repair in 2023.
