George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.

Our International Student Advisors are here to help you during your time at George Brown Polytechnic. You can find your advisors on the International Student Advisors page.
Our International Student Advisors can assist with common international student inquiries such as:
- How do I extend my study permit?
- How and when do I apply for my post-graduation work permit?
- What happens if I need to take an unscheduled or unauthorized break from my program?
- What happens to my status if I have less than a full-time course load?
- How do I invite my family members to visit me?
Note that International Student Advisors are not licensed to assist with applications for Permanent Residency. Periodically George Brown hosts a qualified specialist to give a presentation and answer students' questions about immigration. Students can also seek advice on their own from a qualified immigration consultant or immigration lawyer.
