Geoff Smith, Executive Chair of EllisDon’s Board of Directors and the former President and CEO, will be installed as the third chancellor of George Brown College during a convocation ceremony on Monday, June 9, 2025.

GBC’s own Anna Bartosik provided participants with the opportunity to explore ways to recruit and maintain engagement in teaching through an intersectional lens — all while using a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework.

Members of the Black Futures Do Tank led a workshop on fostering joy and belonging in the classroom.

GBC Faculty Counsellor Naiima Farah, Black Student Success Specialist Wangechi Mwaura and alumni Elvis Glover and Emanuella Chisom Onwuzuluorah led a 90-minute session called Ubuntu in Practice: Reframing Togetherness to Restore Black Wholeness.

George Brown's annual teaching and learning conference is being held as part of the college’s programming at the Congress of the Humanities and Social Sciences.

Programming for this historic event begins Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. James and Waterfront campuses.

As the construction phase comes to a close on the mass-timber building, an exciting new chapter is about to begin at George Brown’s Waterfront Campus.

Stahlbrand and her Honours Bachelor of Food Studies students also helped the college earn an organic campus designation in 2023.
