George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
George Brown teams have been working overnight to respond to the impacts of a power outage that damaged electrical switchgear at Casa Loma Campus last night as a result of the extreme weather conditions.
As a result, Casa Loma Campus ONLY will be closed and inaccessible to both employees and students today (September 3). All in-person classes and orientation activities scheduled at Casa Loma Campus TODAY (September 3) will NOT proceed as planned.
The daycare centre at Casa Loma will also be closed.
We know many new students have been looking forward to Orientation and may already have made plans to travel to campus. We are working to determine alternative dates and will share further information about Orientation as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility as recovery work continues. Please continue to monitor your George Brown email and georgebrown.ca for updates.
