Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Certificates and Diplomas is a one-year program that will prepare you for admission to a variety of Health Sciences certificate and diploma programs, including our Practical Nursing (S121) program. You’ll take courses in biology, chemistry, applied math, communications, career readiness preparation and general electives. You’ll also benefit from the support of a pathway specialist who will help you navigate college and create a realistic action plan for the next steps in your education.

George Brown Polytechnic’s Human Services Foundations (A113) is a two-semester program designed to kick-start your career journey. In a supportive learning environment, you will strengthen your academic skills and be ready for an entry-level role in human services or further education in a variety of human services-related diploma programs. You will study sociology and psychology and improve your communication and teamwork skills, while understanding how systemic issues affect individuals and communities. Together with classmates, you'll explore personal and professional goals and career pathway options for a successful career in human services.

George Brown's Early Childhood Education Diploma program will prepare you for a rewarding career in a rapidly evolving sector. In just two years, you'll learn to work with children from six weeks to 12 years of age in a variety of early childhood education settings.

The Early Childhood Education (Consecutive Diploma/Degree) (C118) program is a joint offering with Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU). In just four years, you will earn both a Diploma from George Brown and Degree from TMU. Launch your career in early childhood education with both a diploma and a degree in just four years.

The Early Childhood Education (Fast-Track) program is for graduates with a diploma or degree in a related field. This fast-track stream will prepare you for a rewarding career working with children from six weeks to 12 years of age in a variety of early childhood education settings.

George Brown's Early Childhood Education (Accelerated) program will prepare you for a rewarding career in a rapidly evolving sector. This condensed, 16-month version of our two-year diploma program will teach you to work with children from six weeks to 12 years of age in a variety of early childhood education settings.

The Child and Youth Care program will prepare you to work effectively with children, adolescents and families who are experiencing social, emotional, developmental and behavioural challenges. The program integrates a holistic approach embedding an ecological perspective and principles of human rights, anti-oppressive practice, resiliency and restorative practice.

The Social Service Worker diploma program combines in-class learning with field experience to teach you the skills you need to succeed. You will study theoretical models and approaches to practice as you develop skills in group facilitation, mental health supports, social innovation and anti-oppressive practice. Please note that while the program is classroom-based, a few specific courses offer online sections to enhance access.

Graduates of this program are eligible to register with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

In the Child and Youth Care (Accelerated) program, you will have an opportunity to learn how to work effectively with vulnerable children, adolescents and families who are experiencing developmental, mental health, social and emotional difficulties. Apply to this program stream if you have already completed a two- or three-year diploma, or a three- or four-year degree.

PLEASE NOTE: If you apply to the 2025/26 intake for this program, you will start in May 2026. To begin your studies in May 2025, apply to the 2024/25 academic year.

The Community Worker (Accelerated) program will prepare you to work for progressive social change with organizations, communities and individuals across a range of issues such as poverty, housing, legal rights, discrimination, food justice, immigration and refugee settlement.

Apply to this accelerated stream, a condensed version of the two-year Community Worker (C101) program, if you have an existing diploma or degree.

To begin your studies in May 2026, apply to the 2025/26 intake for this program. To begin your studies in May 2025, apply to the 2024/25 academic year.

The Social Service Worker (Accelerated) program will provide you with the opportunity to learn theoretical models, group facilitation, mental health support, values, ethics and professional practice, and anti-oppressive practice. Please note that while the program is classroom-based, a few specific courses offer online sections to enhance access.

You can apply to this accelerated program if you have a diploma or degree related to social or community work.

Graduates of this program are eligible to register with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

The Behavioural Science Technician diploma program will teach you how to use Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to support meaningful changes in people's lives.

In the Hearing Instrument Specialist program you will learn the specialized skills required to work as a hearing health-care professional. You will develop people skills and will learn how to use the latest technology to assess appropriate hearing solutions for those in need. For applicants with a relevant degree or diploma, we offer an opportunity for advanced standing into semester 3 of the program.

Take your culinary management diploma to the next level with the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Culinary Management) (H316) program and develop the skills necessary to succeed as a chef, culinary manager or entrepreneur.

Designed for graduates of culinary management diploma programs, H316 is a bridge pathway to the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Culinary Management) (H315) program – Canada’s only four-year culinary management bachelor’s degree.

Take your culinary management or baking and pastry arts diploma to the next level with the Honours Bachelor of Food Studies (H318) program. Examine challenges facing the food system, focusing on justice and equity, sustainability and health, and potential solutions.

Designed for graduates of culinary management or baking and pastry arts diploma programs, H318 is a bridge pathway to the Honours Bachelor of Food Studies (H317) program – Canada’s first four-year honours bachelor of food studies degree combining culinary arts and a comprehensive food studies curriculum.

In the Business Administration – Supply Chain and Operations Management three-year advanced diploma program, you’ll learn how to perform a variety of essential functions, including marketing forecasting, demand management and production planning. Whether you’re interested in logistics, transportation, warehousing, exporting or planning and forecasting, we’ll give you the skills you need to succeed.

There is a growing demand for qualified, professional renovators and custom home builders in the construction industry. The three-year Building Renovation Technology advanced diploma program prepares you to enter the carpentry trade and management areas of the renovation and construction industry, with an emphasis on sustainable design business principles.

This two-year program is eligible for a $40,000 scholarship.*

The two-year Carpentry and Renovation Technician diploma program gets you ready for a career in the renovation and light construction field. You’ll gain hands-on skills in carpentry, construction site safety and renovations, plus the business skills you need to succeed in the industry.

In the Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician diploma program, you’ll develop the ability to size, install and maintain building environmental systems for the residential and light commercial sectors. You’ll gain solid skills and knowledge in the design, operation and maintenance of environmental systems in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R).

This three-year Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology advanced diploma program provides you with an understanding of the factors involved in designing, building, controlling and maintaining energy-efficient building environmental systems. The first two years of the program will give you practical skills through hands-on projects in the shops. You’ll work on a wide range of furnaces, air conditioners, refrigeration equipment and other appliances in our labs. In the third year, you’ll focus more on commercial systems, giving you a well-rounded knowledge base to succeed in the HVAC industry.

The construction industry is one of Canada’s largest employers, and the demand for construction managers continues to grow. Our three-year Construction Engineering Technology advanced diploma program will provide you with the technical, business and interpersonal skills needed to manage construction projects of varying sizes and complexity, while emphasizing sustainable construction practices.

The Civil Engineering Technology three-year advanced diploma program focuses on the planning, design and construction of roads, bridges, tunnels, subdivisions, buildings, municipal services and heavy infrastructure. You’ll learn how to ensure that projects are functional and economical, while meeting standards and codes. Enjoy learning through a blend of lectures, labs and tutorials, with a focus on real drawing sets. You’ll also have the option to complete a co-op after your fifth semester.

Construction engineering technicians work with home builders and general contractors, bid for construction work, and organize and supervise the participation of various trades involved in a construction project. This two-year Construction Engineering Technician diploma program provides the technical skills and knowledge you need to assist in all phases of residential, small commercial and industrial construction projects.

The Honours Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management bridging program offers those with a three-year advanced diploma in Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture Technology, Interior Design Technology or Building Renovation Technology to pursue a degree in the field.

You must complete all semester 4 courses successfully (i.e., achieve a grade of C- in all courses and a semester GPA=2.70) before registering for semester 5 of the Honours Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management program.

You will complete bridging courses as an intensive block during the spring/summer semesters (May to August).

The Honours Bachelor of Technology in Construction Management bridging program offers those with a three-year advanced diploma in Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture Technology, Interior Design Technology or Building Renovation Technology to pursue a degree in the field.

Gain expertise in advanced power and control systems in the three-year Electromechanical Engineering Technology – Power and Control advanced diploma program. Developed in collaboration with Toronto Hydro, this program combines theoretical and practical experience, enabling you to work in a wide variety of electrical engineering areas, including power and control systems, utilities, industrial automation and robotics, instrumentation and process control. The curriculum incorporates theory, applications, practical experience and safety practices from power systems, utilities, manufacturing, control system, automation and computer industries. You’ll also learn about a variety of concepts from the sciences and humanities to boost your knowledge.

This two-year program is eligible for a $40,000 scholarship.*

In the Mechanical Technician – CNC and Precision Machining two-year diploma program, you’ll dive into the world of precision machining and cutting-edge computer-controlled machine (CNC) technology. Our state-of-the-art labs, including Precision Machining, CAD/CAM, CNC, Research, and Robotics, will set you up with hands-on training and real-world skills. You’ll design and manufacture tools, jigs, fixtures, precision fabrication, assemblies and prototypes using computer-aided design and manufacturing software, precision machining equipment and sophisticated CNC machine tool technology. In your final year, you’ll enhance your learning through a 15-week co-op placement with industry partners.
