We're so excited to see you on campus before classes begin! This day is an opportunity for new and returning students, staff, faculty, and guests to come together and explore the campus and connect with one another before the start of the semester. Learning to navigate the college environment can be challenging when you need to figure out where to go and who to connect with, but knowing how to do this is critical to your academic, personal, and career success.

The orientation team will cover what George Brown looks like, it's academic centres and schools, who to reach out to for support, your course outlines, and what you can do to ensure your success.

BSSN Black Student Welcome Mixer

Are you a Black student at GBC? Join us on-campus to learn more about the Black Student Success Network (BSSN) and the services and supports we offer to Black students on campus. You can meet the BSSN team - and mingle with your new peers!

Welcome To Toronto

New to GBC and new to Toronto? Then we have a welcome session just for you! Join us for a brief guide to the city we all love at the Campus Days. We'll highlight some of the best attractions in the neighbourhoods of the campuses, the things to do in the city, how to get around as well as other attractions that are worth checking out here in the city. Discover famous attractions and museums in the city, and what discounts you can get as a student.

And you'll get to meet some other students that are new to the city. Win win!

LIBRARY LEARNING COMMONSThe library isn't just a place to get books, it's so much more. This team can help you with citing your sources, equipment loans, research, databases, and so much more. 
ACCESSIBLE LEARNING SERVICESLearn more about the step-by-step process required to register with Accessible Learning Services to get your accommodations. These can be temporary or long term accommodations but are there to help you succeed.
INTERNATIONAL CENTREGBC students come from all over the world, and we have a team of specialized advisors that can help you transition to life in Canada. Stop by and connect with the team for opportunities for you to learn and connect with your peers.
COUNSELLING & STUDENT WELL-BEINGAs a student, you may experience a range of mental health issues that may result in significant barriers to achieving your personal and academic goals. George Brown’s Counselling and Student Well-being Services offers a wide range of free and confidential services and programs that may be able to assist you. INDIGENOUS EDUCATION & SERVICES

The Indigenous Initiatives team promotes knowledge sharing and works to support students in achieving their academic, work and life goals at the College. Throughout the year, we curate events, teachings and workshops to promote understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture. STUDENT ASSOCIATION

The Student Association (SA) is the  student union representing interests of all George Brown College students. With a focus on representation, advocacy, events and the delivery of services with the objective to build a united student movement to strive towards a high-quality education. As a member of the SA you have a right to join or vote for the Student Association’s board of directors and shape the future of George Brown College. SA EVENTS & RECREATIONThe SA Events & Recreation team offers many social and fun ways for you to connect with other students both on-campus and off. Make sure you stop by and learn about all of the fun opportunities.
SA STUDENT NUTRITION ACCESS PROGRAMThe mission of the Student Nutrition Access Program (SNAP) is to provide support on the nutrition, health and wellness needs of George Brown College students to help them succeed academically. Ask about the resource centre, food pantry, and other programming that supports your well-being!
SA ACADEMIC SUPPORT & ADVOCACY

Academic Support is designed to provide you with the tools and guidance you need to resolve the academic issues you might face during your time at GBC. We provide students with peer-to-peer academic support during their time at GBC to assist with understanding course expectations, academic policies and writing academic petitions.

STUDENT MEDIA

At the Dialog, our team of student journalists produce news by students for students. We are always looking for motivated students who are interested in learning how to cover what’s happening at GBC and learn media skills and literacy. No experience is necessary, just the desire to get the facts about issues affecting students and to tell the truth. 

HEALTH BENEFITSThe Student Association of George Brown College offers Extended Health and Dental plans for full-time domestic and international students enrolled in a post-secondary or ESL program at George Brown College. Stop by and connect with the team about your health benefits and coverage.
SAFEWALK

Why walk alone when you can walk with us! SafeWalk provides walk accompaniment to students, staff, and visitors of the George Brown College community. We walk on-campus and off-campus up to 2 km.

Available for walks at all three main campuses (Casa Loma, St. James and Waterfront), stationed by the college’s welcome desks. You can also flag us down any time when on patrol in our yellow SafeWalk vests to get a walk. The service is available Monday to Friday between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The service does not operate during the winter and spring breaks, and other days the college is closed.

CLUBS & NETWORKSClubs at GBC are a great way to bring back face-to-face contact in areas of cultural interest, personal interests, and social movements.
This is your chance to interact with a wide variety of people, expand your skillset, or find a new interest. Student clubs promote campus life and are inclusive and open to all. Join a club today.
OFFICE ANTI-RACISM, EQUITY, HUMAN RIGHTS SERVICESNo matter where you come from, you should feel safe and supported on campus and in your classes. This amazing team provides training and supports for the entire GBC community to ensure we all learn and grow together.
ATHLETICS & RECREATIONThe Athletics & Recreation team has lots of ways for you to connect, stay healthy, and get involved. Through varsity sports, fitness programs and centres, intramural and extramurals, to online activities to keep you active. Connect with the team.

MASKS

While George Brown does not have a mask mandate currently in place, if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask on campus, you are welcome to do so. Masks, hand sanitizer, and cleaning products are available throughout the campus when you require them.

If you are feeling unwell, please stay home. The safety and well-being of our community is of the upmost importance.

SECURITY TEAMS

Each campus has security teams onsite to enhance the quality of campus life by fostering a safe and secure environment for the entire George Brown College community. Connect with any of the teams if you have questions. There are first-aid trained officers at each location.

In an emergency, you can also dial '0' from any Cisco phone on-campus and it will connect you directly to the team.
