George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.

Resetting your password
Need to reset your password?
The Cyber Security team has made important updates to our password requirements as part of the college’s ongoing commitment to enhancing system and data security. To ensure better protection for our college community, we are adopting industry-leading standards that will strengthen our security measures.
Password process changes
- No more regular password changes: You will no longer need to update your password every 90 days. Unless there is a security incident, your password will remain active without frequent changes.
- No more complex character requirements: We are removing the old complexity rules (upper and lowercase letters, symbols, numbers, etc.). Instead, passwords (or rather passphrases) should be at least 14 characters long. A passphrase is a long, easy-to-remember set of words or phrases that you use to log in securely. It works like a password but is generally longer, making it harder for others to guess and keeping your account safer. You can use a passphrase generator like ProtonPass to generate easy-to-remember yet secure passphrases.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): MFA remains required for all accounts, adding an extra layer of protection beyond your password.
