George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
Under this year’s theme, “Building a Working Peoples’ City” (March 23rd-March 27th), Labour Fair 2026 offers an exciting week of events, bringing unionists, activists, artists and educators to engage with students and community members across GBP’s three campuses.
This year we’re launching the Contemporary Perspectives in Labour & Organising Certificate.
The non-credential Certificate highlights sessions happening during the week of the 34th annual Labour Fair that focus on the pressing issues confronting communities and workers organizing for a fair and liveable future.
Students and community members are invited to choose 4 of 9 module offerings, each of which is connected to a Labour Fair event and explores facets of our current social and political moment. Registrants will learn how to identify the source of social issues, set goals for addressing them, and explore tactics for making systemic change.
Labour Fair highlights include: Histories of Solidarity: Migration, Deportation, & Organizing w/ York U., Communal Lunch-and-Learn on Black Food Sovereignty and Social Unionism, Keynote session on Community Organizing with Sean Smith (Pearson Airport Workers) & Parkdale Housing Justice Network, Queer Community Demand Set, and much, much more!
