Biography
Anita 'turned professor' after her HR Executive career specializing in Workforce Planning, Recruitment, and Diversity & Inclusion in the corporate world, government and post-secondary institutions, recruitment firms and staffing agencies, and for employment development programs. Her strategic HR experience over the past twenty years includes senior leader roles with huge organizations like Compass Group Canada, York University, and the Royal Bank of Canada. She has also worked as an Employment Counselor and Job Developer, successfully running career counseling and employment programs for Youth at Risk and Social Assistance Recipients. Anita is a regular conference speaker and an extensively published HR writer.
Academic Credentials
Anita holds a Master's Degree in English from the University of Maine, a B.A. in Psychology (Cape Breton University), a Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) Designation from the Institute of Professional Management, and the Cambridge CELTA Certificate to teach English as a second language (Saint Mary’s University). She is among the first cohort to earn the Canadian Certification of Inclusion Practitioners (CCIP) accreditation from the Canadian Centre of Diversity and Inclusion (2018). She has taken numerous courses in UDL – Universal Learning Design and Inclusiveness.
