Do I have to disclose my disability to others?

Main Content
1560 views

You do not need to disclose your disability to faculty or staff. If you wish to receive learning accommodations at the college, please register with Accessible Learning Services (ALS) to receive an accommodation plan.

In accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code, you are not required to disclose your specific diagnosis to Accessible Learning Services to receive accommodations. However, documentation outlining the functional impacts of your disability is required and will help us understand your strengths and challenges to determine the most appropriate accommodations to support your learning. Once you have a plan, your professors will receive a copy, but no information related to your disability appears on the plan.

For any questions, please contact ALSregister@georgebrown.ca.
