George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.

George Brown Polytechnic was formed in 1967 to serve the central core of the present City of Toronto area, continuing and quickly adding to the programs of two existing Provincial Trades Institutes originally founded in the 1950s and 60s.
