George Brown Polytechnic is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work and live in the community with each other.
Citing your sources is an essential part of higher education research which allows you to acknowledge and use the works of others in your essays, research, and assignments.
Any information (including ideas!) that you did not create yourself must be credited using a citation method - the most popular are APA (American Psychological Association) and MLA (Modern Language Association).
George Brown Polytechnic Library Learning Commons webpage is dedicated to various citation styles your instructors may ask you to employ in your research and papers. Follow the link to Cite Your Sources under 'Research Support'.
Do not forget to check with your instructor which citation style they would like you to use!
