To honour the work of Chef John Higgins, Director, Chef School at George Brown Polytechnic, a scholarship has been created in his name to recognize his many contributions to the College and the countless culinary students he has taught and mentored over his 20+ years as a faculty member.

The Chef John Higgins Award of Excellence will support students enrolled in Chef School, Centre for Hospitality and Culinary Arts. As the largest Culinary School in Canada, the Chef School at George Brown Polytechnic provides industry-leading education alongside hands-on experiences to help future chefs gain the skills to achieve a successful career in today’s culinary industry. Chef Higgins has been instrumental to the Chef School’s achievements, providing valuable learning opportunities and mentorship to students and alumni. The Chef John Higgins Award of Excellence is yet another addition to his ongoing legacy at George Brown Polytechnic.
